A needs assessment conducted in 2004 highlighted the necessity of action at a very local level. The Region decided that one way to achieve this would be through a program of mini-grants. Over the past three years, these mini-grant awards have been used to effectively address just such highly specific needs.
Mini-grants have proven to be a successful means of infusing local activity and will continue through the next 5 years.
