Consumer Alliance

Overview

The Southeast Genetics Consumer Alliance provides an integral link between Southeast Genetics Collaborative activities and consumers.  The Consumer Alliance formed during summer 2007 and maintains a host of critical and invaluable activities.  The group develops its own priorities and works with the Southeast Genetics Collaborative to ensure that the patient and family voice is heard and needs are met.

Job Posting - Registered Dietitian at The Greenwood Genetic Center

Registered Dietitian - Columbia, South Carolina

The Greenwood Genetic Center has an immediate opening for a fulltime Registered Dietitian.  The position will be located in our Columbia Clinic office.

The primary responsibilities of the Registered Dietitian include developing and monitoring medical nutrition therapy plans for patients with metabolic disorders in the midlands of South Carolina, and providing back up nutrition care for metabolic patients in other areas of the state.  Additional duties may include providing nutritional support for research or special projects.  The candidate will work closely with the GGC metabolic team which includes two board certified clinical biochemical geneticists, three registered dietitians, two clinical psychologists, a genetic counselor, two metabolic clinic coordinators and a biochemical laboratory.

The ideal candidate for this position must have a Bachelor's degree in human nutrition, food and human nutrition or food science/human nutrition, successfully completed an Internship in Dietetics by ADA approved facility, and at least 5 years experience in pediatric clinical nutrition; however, a Master's degree in public health nutrition, community nutrition, human nutrition, food science/human nutrition, or a related field and at least 2 years experience in pediatric clinical/metabolic nutrition is preferred.  Candidate must be a registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.  The candidate should also be willing to travel within the state of South Carolina.  Applications consisting of a CV and accompanying cover letter detailing work experience and professional interests should be sent to:
