Rani H Singh, PhD, RD Dr. Singh is an Associate Professor and Director of the Metabolic Nutrition Program at Emory University School of Medicine Department of Human Genetics.
Hans C. Andersson, MD Hans C. Andersson, MD is the Karen Gore Professor of Human Genetics and Director of the Hayward Genetics Center at the Tulane University Medical School where he directs the Biochemical Genetics Lab. Following fellowship training in clinical genetics and cell biology at the National Institutes of Health and University Gottingen, Germany, Dr. Andersson holds American Board of Medical Genetics certification in Clinical Genetics and Clinical Biochemical/Molecular Genetics. His research has elucidated clinical features and pathophysiology of inherited metabolic genetic disorders. Dr. Andersson is President-Elect of the SouthEast Regional Genetics Group (SERGG), holds membership of numerous national societies including the Society of Pediatric Research and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Pediatrics. He is Co-Chair of the National Coordinating Center Telegenetics Workgroup and a member of the Disaster Preparedness Workgroup.
David Ledbetter, PhD David H. Ledbetter, Ph.D., is currently the Robert W. Woodruff Professor of Human Genetics and Director, Division of Medical Genetics, in the Department of Human Genetics at Emory University School of Medicine. He is ABMG-certified in Clinical Cytogenetics, and has special interests in new genetic testing technologies and their translation to clinical practice. He is the current President of SERGG, and previously served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Human Genetics and the American College of Medical Genetics.
Alex Kemper, MD, MS, MPH Alex R. Kemper, MD, MPH, MS, is a general pediatrician and health services researcher at Duke University. His work focuses on all aspects of screening, including strategies for assuring timely diagnosis and long-term follow-up.
James Eckman, MD Dr. Eckman is the Medical Director of the Sickle Cell Center and Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, Winship Cancer Institute.
Michael McConnell Mike is a partner in the Atlanta office of the Jones Day law firm. Mike is the Chairman of Georgia's Newborn Screening Advisory Committee, a member of the Public Affairs Committee for the Georgia Chapter of the March of Dimes, Vice-President and board member of the Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club, a member of the SERGG board of directors, and a graduate of the 2007 Leadership Atlanta Class.
Lori S Farmer, MS, MSN, APNG, ARNP, RN Lori has a Master's degree in Counseling, as well as a Master's degree in Nursing (East Carolina University), is a Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in Florida, and has certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Genetics. She has 25 years' experience in prenatal genetics nursing, working as an affiliate with Gene Care Medical Genetics since 1995. Previously, she worked as a genetics nurse in Miami, Florida, as well as an the Assisted Reproductive Technology program coordinator for the Fertility and IVF Center of Miami. Since 2005, he has worked at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in the Nursing Department, first as an Assistant Professor for prelicensure nursing students, teaching OB, Peds, Psych, and Transcultural nursing, and now is an Adjunct Professor/Distance Education Instructor for the RN to BSN students at UNCP. She is a previous board member and former Vice President of the S.E. Regional Genetics, Inc. group. Lori is the facilitator of a Share Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Group in Florida, and has special expertise and interest in the area of perinatal bereavement family support, as well as Palliative Care initiatives. In December, 2009, Lori will begin practicing part time at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, doing counseling for patients with a family history of cancer who are considering genetic testing.
Susan Redmon, MPH, RN Susan, R.N., M.P.H., employed by Children's Medical Services (CMS), Florida Department of Health for 10 years as a Registered Nurse Consultant. She works as the CMS statewide champion for youth transition, CMS Network telemedicine liaison, Family-centered care liaison, and Developmental Services liaison. She represents CMS and transition activities on the Big Bend Transition Council, the Big Bend Leadership Network, and the University of Florida's Transition Center. Susan also serves as a Parent/consumer representative on the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council Health Care Task Force; and Parent/consumer representative on the University of South Florida's University Center for Excellence in Disabilities/ Florida Center for Inclusive Communities, Consumer Advisory Council.
